THE STORY BEHIND THE SONG “UP IN HEAVEN”
The original song was written by Les Lyons
who owns Lyons Auto and Truck Service Center
in Mifflinburg. Lyons was inspired to write the song in memory of his
niece, Shannon,
who died in an auto accident in 1991. He asked soloist Joseph Wise of
Lewisburg
to consider singing the song, and Wise suggested that Skip Kline of
Songcrafters Studio
in Beavertown be asked to produce the music and add to the lyrics.
Orion Creative, Inc., of Harrisburg, offered to do the artwork for the
CD and insert.
Orion Creative is owned by Deb Hosterman, and Hosterman works with Christina
Wise
who is Joe’s wife. Sam and Carol Lantz of Lantz Modular Log Homes
in Middleburg
agreed to donate the initial duplication costs.
Lyons previously read an article about Pennsylvania
Cystic Fibrosis, Inc. (PACFI),
and their annual Chili Cookoff & Auction in Susquehanna Life
magazine.
He contacted PACFI and asked that all proceeds from the sale of the
CD be given to PACFI
to help people affected by cystic fibrosis (CF) because “zero
kids with CF is a good idea.”
PACFI thankfully acknowledges the people noted
above for donating their time, efforts and money
to make this CD possible. 100% of proceeds will benefit PACFI to help
families and to fund research.

Burke P. Bear was proclaimed "The Pennsylvania Ambassador for
Love, Peace, Having Fun, and
Curing Cystic Fibrosis" in a unanimous 199-0 vote by the PA House
of Representatives in June, 1999.
"Burke's Tour" is taking the traveling ambassador through
each state and several world countries.
So far he has visited nearly every state and 17 world countries where he
spreads his ambassador's messge:
To love each other, to live peacefully, to have fun, and to help cure
CF.
